Darren practices law as a solicitor in the Technology, Media and Communications team at national law firm Bond Dickinson LLP.

He has interests in smart cities, data, cyber security and mobile applications and advises clients on a broad range of commercial issues but particularlyrelated to matters that are regulated or subject to European or UK political or regulatory reform.His focus is primarily within the energy, telecommunications and transport sectors and he has in-house counsel experience within the energy sector.

Darren is an active member of the business community, is a former Council of Management member of the Bristol Junior Chamber of Commerce and advises start-up businesses for the Prince's Trust.

Campaigner

Darren has been an active campaigner on matters of social justice, poverty and the environment over many years - setting up, supporting and leading a number of political and issues based campaigns.

In 2015, Darren was the UK Labour Party's prospective Member of Parliament for the Bristol North West parliamentary constituency. He continues to support and advise political campaigns in respect of strategic communications, stakeholder management and campaign organisation.

Darren has also sat on a number of public and third sector boards, including schools, hospitals and universities as well as neighbourhood / community organisations and legal advice charities.

Darren's current campaign focus is on sustainable business and campaigning for the UK to remain as a member of the European Union.

Advocate

Darren has extensive experience as a public advocate representing issues, organisations and campaigns on TV, radio and in the newspapers.He is a guest lecturer at the University of Law, has spoken at numerous public events, panel discussions and conferences and mentors others in preparation for public speaking events.
